A lot of clients ask me if I have a regular massage and the answer is yes! About once a month!
I feel so many benefits from having a regular massage that it seems silly not to have one!
Besides the obvious reason of it feeling nice and being a treat, I do notice lots of other benefits from having regular treatments. Here are my favourite side effects…
I find that massage keeps my muscles and joints moving nicely, massage helps to keep me supple and as I love to dance it’s very noticeable if I’ve ceased up. I notice the tightness more in the colder months as I don’t like the cold I seem to tense up more.
Massage also helps my mental health, it seems to turn the volume down on depression and anxiety.
It gives my brain an hour to just chill out and be completely still. It’s a lovely feeling when I realise my brain has managed to quieten down.
The floaty happy feeling I get after a massage feels wonderful and I wish I could feel that happy forever, unfortunately life does get in the way of that, which is why it’s important to keep having regular treatments.
The more my brain remembers how to quieten down (through regular practice during massage and meditation), the easier it is to reproduce at other times.
There are also many other physiological effects, which are less noticeable to me, but if I miss out having my regular massage they soon become more apparent! These include a well functioning immune system, glowing skin, a happier digestive system and better sleep!
So, as I said, it seems silly not to have a massage!
